As promised I would keep people updated concerning the proposed S.3205 the Human-Powered Travel in Wilderness Areas Act.
I had recently contacted the offices of Utah Senator Mike Lee and I very quickly heard back from his communications director and this is their response:
Hey Adam-
Nothing in the bill in anyway privatizes public lands. All the bill does do is make it more likely for more people to enjoy mountain biking on public lands.
Unfortunately we do not have any Democratic co-sponsors at this moment but we are hopeful.
Please do let me know if you have any further questions.
Thanks.

This is an ongoing story and I’m sure this is not going to be the end of it.
I’ll keep people updated as things develop.
